This page is for the Emails we have permission to post from former customers of GNU industries. |
This is the most recent email I have recieved with permission to post. Recieved on: 2/30/2007
I ordered an Alarm on Jan 14th and had a couple issues with the
install. I called Ryan at GNU to get some technical info....
Baaaaaad move :-(
The alarm was actually defective and Ryan said it would be replaced. I
sent it in (with remotes) per his instructions and they received it on Feb
14th. Since then I have been getting ignored and outright lied to on
numerous locations.
Their customer service it pathetic and they even use the same line over
and over. ("it's on the bench waiting for parts, it will ship tomorrow) I
have heard that three times now, and I have heard "the guy in that
department is at a funeral today" for three days.... long funeral! There
are similar complaints on the web and with the BBB (thanks for the link),
so I can see
I'm not alone in my disgust.
All I wanted at the time was a replacement for the main control box, but
they said I needed to return the remotes with the unit, so now I need
remotes too :-(
The reason behind this letter, besides to rant, is to ask if it is
possible to
purchase just a controller module and 2 way remote for the Astra 777 or
equivalent. (I have the siren and wiring all installed)
I have been impressed with your knowledge and help, so I thought I would
see if you had any ideas/options.
Thanks

That would be fine.
I did end up getting them to send me a replacement (or they fixed my
original)
I documented all the calls and all the people I spoke with and exactly
what they said "we are waiting on parts", "it's on the bench but they guy
has left", "The guy is at a funeral" (they used that one twice!) so when
caught in their own lies like that, I think they sent me my stuff so I
wouldn't trash them on the web or bring a civil suit. :-)
thanks

I can't recall exactly, but I believe it was about 2 months.

This is an excerpt of an Email I got from a customer that was waiting for a very long time for an order
that Ryan had agreed to ship directly to them. I had difficulty in getting any response back from GNU. No answers to email, Their
phone system hangs up on me etc.

Subject: RE: Credit Card Order - Invoice #291
I just got the car starter and now I see why I had so much trouble. I had no idea I was buying from GNU. I have had
many problems with them in the past, always taking 10 to 20 days to mail an order out or losing an order.
They didn't even mail this out untill the 13th oct. And for the record.., you might want to ask them to not place a copy
of your credit card order in the box on a blind ship. I have it here in front of me shows the date that they
billed you and the amount they billed you hell you get a nice break in the price 54.00 . the reason I went and
ordered this from you was to get away from them. I install allot of these and other systems and its hard
for me to tell a client that they have to wait till the company I bought it from gets off there ass and ships it to me.
Doesn't make me look very good, and definitely doesn't make you or GNU look good either. I am just one person having
dealings with them and have no power to get them to step up to the plate and fix what ever trouble they are
having with there shipping dept. but you sell there products. You have the power to be heard. I am not a pain in the ass
costumer, just some one that thinks that 10 to 20 days to think about sending out something that some one has ordered
and paid for is abit much. I have also spoken to them about this last time I had dealings with them and apparently it has
fallen upon deaf ears.
I wish you luck in your dealings with them.
