Black Ridge Website Policies


  The following information has been deemed necessary due to practical experience. You agree to any terms or rules and this policy when you make any purchase on this or any affiliated website. Affiliated websites are generally older websites. Please see the legal version at the bottom of this page!



In order to facilitate the security of customer information, this website uses an automated billing system that automatically and instantly bills the customer for their order without any human intervention. This is very good and has only one drawback. Visa still charges us a fee for returns. Thus we have to charge 25% of the order costs to cover most of the costs incurred to us. Please please double-check your order and send us an email if you have any questions. Please note that to control costs phone support is limited. While we would like to guarantee shipping we operate out of a number of shipping locations. Thus any type of shipping is an estimate only regardless of what the order page with its shipping options states. Very large orders will be delayed for funds verification and foreign orders will be delayed for cash payment.

The reason is this.  *(current info below)Merchants all over use a process called address verification to verify that the card number they have received for an online order is really from a legit customer and not stolen. 

The process works like this. 

You the customer place an order and you provide a name and address for shipping then, on a secure server, you provide your credit card number.  The merchant then calls your bank (based on the number you gave) and gives them the card number and the address on the order. The bank then says yes its legit or no there is a problem. The bank never gives any other information and yet this simple procedure saves lots of money for merchants and consumers by preventing fraud.

The above banks refuse to do address verification. Therefore some merchants, including the owner of this website, refuse to do business with them.

(Due to the new automated AVS, the above only occurs for certain orders that have suspicious characteristics regardless if the order was accepted by the system. If we can't do a manual verification we will do a card refund rather then run high risks of getting ripped off. This helps keep our costs down.)

The only exceptions to this rule are little orders under $20.00 and multiple small orders will not be accepted and may be charged a $2.00 processing fee per voided order. See our comment on Banks

Return Policy Legal Version

  Products sold by Black Ridge Customs are covered by our 30-day return period, unless otherwise noted. Policies regarding items that are not covered by the 30-day return period are specified on the products' individual pages as well as in the special exceptions section below. Please note that Black Ridge Customs offers limited technical support. Please direct technical questions to the manufacturer. Ask us and we can provide that contact information.


All returns covered under our 30-day return period are subject to the following:

  • A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued by Black Ridge must accompany all returns.
  • RMA numbers must be obtained no later than 30 days from the date the product was shipped. After 30 days, all product returns must be handled directly by the manufacturer or warranty provider.
  • All RMA numbers are valid for 10 days from the date of issuance.
  • All products must be returned in like-new condition, including original packaging, all documentation and accessories. Charges will be applied for all missing accessories or parts.
  • Black Ridge Customs will not accept items that have been physically damaged or misused.
  • Black Ridge Customs will not honor requests for exchanges except under limited conditions.
  • All returns must be shipped freight prepaid.
  • All related fees (shipping & return shipping fees) are NON-REFUNDABLE for all products in all cases.
  • 25% restocking fee applies to all refunds.
    • Per State of California regulations, any taxes refunded in this case will be calculated based on the final refund amount minus the 25% restocking fee, not the original purchase price. Please refer to for further information.
  • Please allow 1-2 weeks for all refunds.
  • After 30 days of the purchase date, all items that need to be returned for any reason will not be refunded.
  • Claim for missing accessories or product not as advertised must be reported within 15 days from the date item is shipped.

After receiving your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number

  • Write your RMA number legibly on the return label or outside of the packaging box.
  • Return the item in its original packaging to the address given to you in your email communication with us.

Unauthorized Returns

Shipments that are refused without authorization, or that are returned to us because the address was invalid, are subject to a restocking fee of 25% plus applicable shipping and handling fees. Per State of California regulations, any taxes refunded in this case will be calculated based on the final refund amount minus the 25% restocking fee, not the original purchase price. Warranty Service

For warranty service, please check the product page to find out who the warranty provider is for your particular product. In all cases, you must have a RMA number. If Black Ridge is the warranty provider, you must obtain a RMA number from us. If a manufacturer or third party is responsible, you must obtain a RMA number from them. Please see the Manufacturer Warranty Section for full details.

Unless otherwise noted, warranty terms apply only to merchandise shipped within the USA. Merchandise forwarded to other international locations may not be covered under the warranty. Please check with the manufacturer or warranty provider prior to purchase.

  * Currently our system now supports automated Address Verification. The bank sends us a note on each order with the address verification information. If the address does not match the order could still go through but shipping will be delayed. Please make sure if you have moved that you inform your bank of your new address. We understand that sometimes you may want an item shipped to a seperate location from your card billing address, but please avoid this. If you can't avoid it please send us an email requesting a different ship to location.
